And Finally,.......My old mum could use a single word, just one syllable to encapsulate a wide range of ideas
She would be out in the garden, pointing a bony finger at the door. A tight-lipped "IN" would mean all or any of the following..
1. You are going to get such a smack
2. It's bed/bath/tea/Jackanory time
3. why did you do that ?
4. I've found out..
Anyone else remember this ..can you add to the list of possibles??
good lord, that brought back some memories.
the only snippet I remember is:
there are starving children in Africa that would love your leftovers...
quite why they'd want the courgettes, swede and fatty bits of meat I was trying to leave behind I don't know!
