Look at the following words and say the COLOUR of the word, not the word itself.

Why is it so difficult?
Because one half of your brain is trying to say the colour, while the other side of your brain is trying to say the word.
Have a lovely day.

It looks as if it should be so simple

It's supposed to be a good brain exercise! You'll soon have a fit brain
Well..my brain is the only part of me that is fit
Me too!

Aha .... erm I wonder if it works in French???
Possibly, have a go![]()
I think it just might - strange or what?
I know, it's because you are not actually reading the word, so the brain cells don't get confused![]()

Smart cookie!!!
Not easy , but I did it
Told myself to see it as a colour . I think I tend to see words as shapes so that helps too
Now my brain needs a rest

Pull up a chair ![]()
I managed it but I had to do it slowly and conciously look at the colour not the word. Need a cuppa now how about a cookie to go with it ? ![]()
Excellent idea ![]()
It is called a "Stroop Test" and is a psychology test to do with dichotomy! I remember this from a course I studied in 1986!!!
Aha - so you'll sail through this one
Even knowing how it works doesn't give one much advantage unless you concentrate really really hard! Best way was to screw up ones eyes and deliberately not read but just see the colours! ![]()
Sounds about right - or think in a foreign language as mentioned above ^^^^^
Green,red,blue.
yellow, blue, black.
red,blue,green.
black, red, yellow.

WELL THAT'S ONE WAY ROUND IT

ps sorry about capitals!!!! ![]()
